Tonk'peh

I have started many blogs in the past, and I have abandoned them. I will most likely abandon this one as well. GrumbleKnits lasted the longest, but I fear even it has died. This time I am not going to have a themed blog. I am just going to blog on what ever it is that I feel like. I am going to tell you a little bit about my self and the things that I like so you know what to expect from this blog. My name is Madeleine. I am 14, and I live in a small town outside of Ottawa. I am in grade 9, and i just started going to school after taking grades 7 and 8 to unschool. I love school and I love learning. My class mates may think that I am a teacher's pet or a nerd (ok, I love being called a nerd) but I don't really care what they think. My favorite subjects are science, math and English but science is most defiantly my favorite. I love Star Trek to the point of being obsessive about it. If you read my previous blog you will know that I love to knit.

The thing that I never talked about in my other blog was politics and religion, but I do have very strong options on these things. I am very left-wing, and I am an atheist. I am pro-choice, a feminist and pro-LGBT rights. I may occasionally talk about these issues on this blog. If I get nasty comments (and you can disagree with me, I would love to hear your opinion, but be nice) I will disable the comments on this blog.

So if you think that you would like to hear my thoughts on science, school, knitting, star trek, politics and religion then I look forward to hearing your comments and thoughts but also knowing that someone out there is reading my blog.

p.s.- Tonk'peh is Vulcan for "hello". Vulcans are by far my favorite species in the Star Trek universe.
